Gemma Wright
Gemma has 23 years’ experience in HETV and Film industry. She spent many years working in the Assistant Director department. Her HETV AD credits include Broadchurch, Black Mirror, The Salisbury Poisonings, Galavant, Poldark and Sanditon, with AD film credits including Charlies Angels, My Dinner with Herve, Doing Money and the Oscar winning film Judy, starring Renée Zellweger.
Gemma went on to work alongside Stephen Merchant for two and a half years as his Assistant, making several series of The Outlaws for the BBC, before moving into Development and Producing. Gemma developed new projects for Rope Ladder Fiction, alongside freelance development work, before going on to Produce on Waterloo Road. She is currently Development Producer for South West based Production Company Panache Pictures, with a feature film and television series in development. She is the Producer of two award winning short films and is an Edinburgh TV Ones to Watch Alumni. She is an active member of Women In Film and Television and BAFTA Connect. Gemma is an advocate for bringing new and underrepresented voices into the industry. She mentors several younger crew members, and is on the All Set West Industry Reference Group.
